The Senate has published the schedule for the Hearing to take place on
Thursday 7th. March at Parliament House in Perth, 11:40am to 1:40pm.
THE HEARING IS OPEN TO THE PUBLIC.
President of Friends of the ABC (WA), Bobbie Mackley, will be the first witness to appear before the Inquiry, at 11:40am.

The Inquiry will sit in Perth on Thursday 7th. March 2013, details incl. venue TBA.
Another date to note: the ABC comes before Senate Estimates on Monday 11th. February 2013.

A transcript of Estimates should be available within a few days of the hearing.
The Senate has set up an Inquiry into ‘The ABC’s commitment to reflecting and representing regional diversity’.
This is in response to the de-commissioning by the ABC of television programs made in-house in Tasmania.

Most television production at the ABC in Perth ceased in 2011. The national radio networks, Radio National & ClassicFM, have for some time been reducing staff numbers in Perth and the other smaller state centres by leaving positions unfilled, or filing them in Sydney or Melbourne.
